The Wawona Swinging Bridge
The Wawona Swinging Bridge Trail is hidden gem on the south-side of the great Yosemite National Park. To access the trail, one must enter The Redwoods community via Chilnualna Falls Road off of the main Wawona Road. The Redwoods in Yosemite is a neighborhood that offers lodging rentals as an alternative to camping or backpacking in the park. But camping is so much better right?! As you approach the trailhead Chilnualna Falls road turns into a dirt road, don't be deterred and keep going until you reach the end.
This trail is one I have had the pleasure of visiting a handful of times. Nearly always quiet and free of tourist foot traffic. The Swinging Bridge Trail is an ideal location for finding a secluded corner of the river with friends. The Mite Mates have tested this trail about 4 times now, and the best season to go would be late June through early August. Time outside of this may be too cold or too dry for quality swimming.
Reaching the river requires you to walk about a mile where you will immediately spot the iconic swinging bridge. Please enjoy, be safe, and meditate on a rock dude!
Anyway... More content coming soon :)
Thanks!
